COVID-19 Letter to Parents 18.03.2020

Dear Parents

Since I last wrote the Covid-19 situation has changed. Please be reassured that we are doing everything we can to keep school open and to keep children and staff safe.
The change in Government advice has obviously had an impact on our school community.

It is really important that you follow the most recent advice and, if your household are self-isolating for 14 days then you must remain inside your home. Please don’t come to school to tell us that you are self-isolating, simply phone us to let us know.
Currently, there are no confirmed cases connected to school. However, there are pupils and staff who are having to self-isolate as a result of having contact with someone with a cough or a temperature. We also have some staff that fall into the ‘vulnerable category’ meaning that they have to stay at home for the next 12 weeks.
Staff absence clearly will have an impact on what we can offer as a school. For now, we are trying to continue with the curriculum and managing to cover all classes but this may change in the future – if it does we will let you know.

After this week there will be no after school clubs. The two remaining sessions will be postponed or we will organise refunds.

All trips, including Yr2 swimming are now cancelled as are other school events.
From today we will not let any visitors or parents into the building – please understand that we are doing this to prevent further risk.

If we get to a position where school has no option but to close, work for the children will be available to be accessed through our website. Teachers will still be working and will communicate with you directly through email.

As advice and guidance changes I will, of course, update you further.

Thank you for your support and understanding.
