Year 5
What is Design Technology?
Year 5 have been looking at collecting photos from the earliest telephones to the latest smart phones and describing how they have been improved. They have also been looking at design vocabulary and learning the definitions.
Pulleys and Gears
At the end of the Autumn term, Year 5 learnt about pulleys and gears. They looked at the mechanisms and experimented with different pulley systems and gear trains. By the end of the week, they had created their very own aerial tramway and they were great!

Electronic Motors
Year 5 have been developing their knowledge on electrical and mechanical systems. They used various components to design and create their own electronic motor car and used their previously learnt skills to help build it.
