The children were challenged to find each country of the UK, their capital cities and the seas surrounding it. We worked together in teams to see who could label the most places.

We created ‘messy maps’ using a variety of materials to represent physical features of Australia. Our goal was to use a key so that people could use our maps to locate different features.

Australia Physical vs Human features
We tried to sort some human and physical features from Australia using pictures of key landmarks, rivers, beaches and gardens. We loved comparing the featured we have in the UK to those in a country outside of Europe.
Great Barrier Reef
Great Barrier Reef
We created a model of The Great Barrier Reef out of playdough after learning about the landscape and wildlife that lives there. We even added white playdough to represent the bleached coral found there!
